Support Release Notes Changes since version 9.6.1

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in the Activation Window which would display an error message whenever someone without an “Administrative” account attempted to click the “Upgrade”, or “Continue Trial” buttons on the window. In addition, fixed issues related to License Activation that would cause unexpected application behavior depending on actions taken by the user.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the application to crash whenever one of the following happened: Workstation locked, screensaver using Microsoft Direct 3D started, or user pressed “Ctrl+Alt+Delete”.
  • Corrected many distance calculations by using arc distance instead of 3D distance when distances are beyond visible horizon.
  • Fixed an issue where the Application title bar was not displaying the current view’s filename.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the waypoint table to incorrectly calculate time when unable to reach a waypoint.
  • Fixed waypoint calculation to handle long, over the horizon calculations correctly. Previously platform would stall.
  • Corrected minor bug in distance calculations.
  • Changed beam value defaults to be consistent between beam editor and beam shape editor.
  • Fixed a minor issue that wouldn’t display the component name selected in application host.
  • Removed Communications GUI from EWSS property pages. Software unit was in an alpha state and requires more testing and implementation.

Enhancements

  • All Mission Data files where previously located in the application directory alongside the binaries, which defaulted to “Program Files”. The scheme was changed because by default only “Administrator” accounts can write to those folders. Mission Data files will now reside in “%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents\EWA GSI\Mission Data” from now on. This way the files can be shared and save by all users using the same workstation.
  • Removed application dependency on Windows Media Player plug-in to display help videos.
  • Changed all component File Dialogs to start in the directory most likely to be desired by the user.
  • Add finer increment units when < primary unit range for EWSS status bar.
  • Optimized the range circle drawing.
  • Added support for 64-bit Windows Operation Systems.
  • Added support to host EWSS in .NET Remoting as a server.
  • Added time multiplier indication to scenario time on status bar of EWSS.
  • Improved look-feel of 3D World Viewer – Enhanced the three-dimensional look, by supporting mouse wheel zooms, the field-of-view is now closer. Also, platforms now automatically scale as the user zooms in and out. In addition, added menu items and tool bars to support functionality that was previously on the bottom right portion of the screen. Changed the map layer settings look like the EWSS layer settings. The control now saves its previous settings when closed. It saves Line-of-Sight displayed, Show Attenuation Regions, and layer settings. Also, we added a status bar at the bottom of the screen which currently displays the scenario time.
  • Added generic Pan Receiver to replace CSO Pan Display.
  • Improved EWSS in several ways. It now saves previous settings such as Show All Range Circles, Show Attenuation Regions, and Show Waypoints. Added the ability to display the graticule in the layer settings. Changed some of the menu Accelerator keys to be more consistent with other applications. Made opacity more consistent with child windows. In addition, improved context menu display algorithms.
